Q: What is a D-10 visa?
The D-10 visa is a Job-Seeking Visa for international students who graduate from a Korean university and want to stay in Korea to look for a job or internship. It allows you to remain in Korea legally while job hunting in a field related to your major.

Q: Who can apply for a D-10 visa?
You can apply if:

  • You hold a D-2 (student) visa

  • You are graduating or have already graduated from Ajou University

  • You want to find a job or internship in Korea

Q: When should I apply?
You must apply before your D-2 visa expires.
After graduation, your D-2 visa is only valid for up to 30 days, so it’s best to apply as early as possible—at least 2–3 weeks before your visa expiration.

Q: How long is the D-10 visa valid?
The D-10 visa is usually valid for 6 months.
You may request an extension later if needed, based on your job-seeking activities.

Q: How can I apply to change from D-2 to D-10?
You can apply in two ways:

Option 1: Online (Recommended)

  1. Visit www.hikorea.go.kr

  2. Log in and click "e-Application"

  3. Choose “Change of Status of Sojourn”

  4. Select from D-2 to D-10

  5. Upload the required documents

  6. Pay the fee online

Option 2: Visit the Immigration Office

Make a reservation on HiKorea and visit your local immigration office with the required documents.

✅ Required Documents:

  • Application Form (available on HiKorea)

  • Passport

  • Alien Registration Card (ARC)

  • Certificate of (Expected) Graduation

  • Transcript

  • Job-Seeking Plan (in Korean or English, free format)

  • Proof of Residence in Korea (e.g. housing contract or dormitory certificate)

  • Proof of Living Expenses

  • TOPIK certificate (if any)

  • Application Fee: KRW 130,000

Q: Can I work with a D-10 visa?
No, not automatically. If you want to work part-time, you must apply for separate permission from the immigration office before starting any work.

If you need help using the HiKorea website or preparing your documents, please check the HiKorea User Guide or visit the immigration office directly.

Good luck with your job search in Korea!

※ Please note that passwords are not synchronized between Ajou University Portal and Gmail.

If you access your school email (@ajou.ac.kr) directly through the Gmail app or other mail clients instead of through the "Ajou Mail" link on the Ajou University portal, and are unable to recover your Gmail password, you can reset it by accessing "Ajou Mail" via the university portal.

Steps to Change Your Gmail Password:

1. Log in to the Ajou University portal → Click on Ajou GM → Click your name at the top right corner → Select [Manage your Google Account]

2. On the left-hand menu, select "Personal info"

3. Scroll down and click on "Password"

4. Enter a new password → Click [Change Password]

[CASE 1-1] If a login screen appears instead of the password reset screen in Step 4:

  • Clear your browser cache and access the portal in a new window.

  • Alternatively, try accessing the portal using Chrome’s Incognito Mode or Edge’s InPrivate window.

[CASE 1-2] If you still see a login or error screen:

  • If the issue persists even after trying the steps in [CASE 1-1], it may be due to Google restricting access because of abnormal login attempts.

→ In this case, please request remote support by contacting the Information Systems Team at aiscenter@ajou.ac.kr.
